Designed for a young family, this traditional, single-fronted semi in the inner west was re-configured to create a new combined living/kitchen/dining area opening out to the rear yard with a parents retreat/ensuite/study on the new upper level.
The brief called for a relaxed, interior that was light, crisp and modern whilst retaining the character of the original architecture from the front.
This was created by introducing a palette of greys and whites - grey timber floors, concrete, textured grey belgian linen curtains, grey carpets and detailing and offsetting it with natural oak and tan leather furniture.
